Our family has been busy the last few months preparing for Jordan's Mission call. On April 19th 2011 he was called to the Kentucky Louisville mission. He will serve for two years. On Monday evening we left for Utah to drive him down to Provo. We stayed in Salt Lake where we met up with some family members. We were able to attend a morning session at the Salt Lake Temple and then we toured the temple grounds with family and friends. We went out to wingers (Jordan's request). Later that evening we had a special family devotional and Jordan received a father's blessing. On Wed morning we drove to Provo. We stopped at an In and Out for lunch, where apparently it is a popular last meal for Missionaries as we ran into 8 other recently called missionaries that were having their last meal with family. They were all so excited to see each other. Jordan said he became less nervous when it became real that he was not the only newbie entering that day. We then drove him to the MTC.
Half of us had to say a quick goodbye at the church parking lot across the street. We were only allowed one car in as 100 cars pull up to the curb every 15 min. So the rest of us packed in like sardines and drove him through the gates and dropped him off at the curb. We said another quick goodbye as he was greeted by the helpful Elders that would show him around that day.
